Middle School (6th-8th)

“Hausner offered our son a warm and welcoming landing pad when he arrived for his 7th grade year, enabling him to make deep connections and lasting friendships. Guided by a creative, committed and attentive faculty and administration, our son’s intellectual curiosity has been nurtured and affirmed. We could not be more pleased.”

Jill & Fay, 8th Grade Alumni Parents

Our middle school program’s strength in science, technology, engineering, math, and the humanities shines in hands-on projects such as writing and producing original works based on historical studies, and assembling a Rube Goldberg machine to highlight knowledge and understanding of physics. In addition, Hausner middle schoolers work individually or collaboratively with their peers to learn Hebrew and Jewish studies. As a culmination of these studies, eighth graders embark on a life-changing trip to Israel each spring. Here’s a photo diary of the 2017 trip.

Hausner creates meaningful opportunities for each student to participate in the mitzvot (commandment) of avodah la’olam (work of the world) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Each student also participates in art, drama, music, and PE classes. Our advisory system provides close academic and emotional support, setting up our students with strategies to develop healthy habits and future success. Middle schoolers also are given the opportunity to play organized league sports, strengthening their athletic talents, learn about teamwork and cooperation, and – most of all – have fun!
