“I can’t thank you all enough. The experience of playing flag football for [my son] has been so positive and transformative for him. Thank you for your coaching and enthusiasm. Great season!”

Hausner’s kindergarten through 8th grade physical education program focuses on the whole child. We begin with providing elementary students with fun, dynamic activities aimed at increasing physical fitness and improving hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills. As we introduce younger students to the basic rules of team sports, we work on developing social and problem-solving skills – all while having fun!

As students advance through the grades, we keep pace with their developmental progress and introduce them to strategies and nuances of team sports. Our program is carefully aligned with Small School Intermediate League (SSIL) seasons, so that those students who take an interest in a specific sport may join one or more of the many SSIL teams that we participate in should they desire.

Hausner is very pleased to be a part of the SSIL program, which offers team competition amongst various local private and public schools. By playing interscholastic sports, our students have the opportunity to show off their athletic talents; learn about teamwork, cooperation and determination; and have fun!

INTERSCHOLASTIC SPORTS

Our interscholastic sports program for 6th-8th grades offers various competitive team and individual sports including:

  • Coed flag football
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Cross country
  • Tennis
  • Bowling
  • Swimming
  • Golf
  • Street hockey

Hausner began participating in the interscholastic sports program in 2003. Each year since, we have added more sports and increased the number of student-athlete participants. Each Hausner student-athlete is expected to represent our school positively on the field and off. This includes—but is certainly not limited to—athletic sportsmanship, academics, and interactions between peers and adults.
